    (5/13/2009) Schlaegel's Homegrown Popcorn is now twitting! Beginning in the middle of May, 2009 you will be able to find Schlaegel's at www.twitter.com/kansaspopcorn. The business also will have a Facebook page that Facebook users will be able to find by searching "Schlaegel's Homegrown Popcorn" within their Facebook account. While the Twitter site will be used solely for updates on new products, and for news on upcoming events, the Facebook page has a place for comments, discussion, and product reviews.

    "We are in a new, crazy, communications age," Mike Tanking said. "These are just the latest communication tools that we will try to take advantage of."

    The business hopes to have many "fans" and "followers" on the two new sites.

    "It could potentially be an amazing line of communication between producer and consumer. In today's world, you have to be in touch with what the public wants, and right now Facebook and Twitter are the thing," Tanking said.
